Independent investigations

Amy conducts neutral investigations of school and workplace issues. Amy has over 15 years of experience conducting investigations to help serve your school or company. She is an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI-CH). She has been trained as a Title IX investigator under the 2024 Title IX regulations (K12 and higher education), and as a Title IX investigator and decision maker under the 2020 Title IX regulations (K12 and higher education).

TitlE IX Athletics PROGRAM EQUITY reviews and athletics mediation

Whether done proactively by an institution, or resulting from litigation or settlement, an athletics program equity review with committed followup on identified issues can be the most successful way to address equity issues. Amy has experience investigating, negotiating resolution agreements, and conducting long-term monitoring for higher education and K-12 athletics matters, including eight years of monitoring CSU Fresno’s compliance until 2016, when OCR Seattle closed its monitoring of a set of complaints made in 2004. Amy also serves as a mediator for Title IX athletics claims.

Amy provides training for school staff, employers and attorneys so they may understand their legal obligations under discrimination laws, sharpen their ability to spot issues in complaints, and respond appropriately to students and employees who report. Areas of specialty include Title IX athletics compliance, Title IX sexual harassment investigation requirements, interpersonal boundaries, and how to maintain safe and respectful workplaces.

Expert witness

Amy serves as an expert witness to plaintiffs and defendants for school and workplace harassment, bullying, discrimination, different treatment, misconduct, athletics, and retaliation cases.
